May 31, 2016 Tuesday - Sleeping in RV in the driveway

Still way too much stuff to pack and we need to clean.  Good thing is the house is in pretty good shape.  We’ve cleaned well several times recently.  Inspection is at 7pm.  We won’t be out.  Louise and Jim stopped by and took extra food to West Valley Community Services for us.

It's a weird feeling to not own a car.  All we have is the RV.

Terry’s not feeling well-probably heat exhaustion.  Not good the night before we have to be out.  Very scary!

Barb came and helped finish packing and cleaning the kitchen.  What a lifesaver!  We're on auto mode.  We are so tired we can't think but we know what needs to be done so we just do it.  It feels hopeless.  We won't get out in time.

May 29, 2016 Sunday

Two days left before we leave.  The only painting left to do is 1 closet door.  To add another challenge to our task, the door lock to the RV broke.  Terry was locked inside and Peggy was locked outside.  Now we enter through the cab where the driver sits!  Looking at this on the bright side, Peggy got out to go to the bathroom BEFORE it broke!  It will also encourage us to pack lightly since it will be more difficult to pack at all!  Luckily, Terry figured out a work around until we can get it fixed.

We take a truck full of stuff to Jim and Louise’s airplane hanger to store for a year.

May 21-28, 2016

We sold Peggy’s car and signed over Peter’s car to him.  We also got a commitment to sell the Pilot on our last day at home, May 31st.  During this time we had the drapes cleaned, the carpets cleaned and rooms painted with the help of our friends Marsha, Barbara and Bob.

We spent most of our time going through 41 years of stuff we’ve accumulated to try and reduce what we were going to keep in storage.  We stuffed Carol’s Prius full several times with donations to Goodwill.

May 28th we said our goodbyes to most of our friends

May 20, 2016 Friday

Today is the day we start sleeping in our RV for the next year because all the furniture is moved out of the house.  With the help of our friend Bob, we move all the furniture into the garage to store for a year.
